Friends’ Bonsai Society (FBS) is the brainchild of Dr Pushpa Jaywant. It took birth in June 1983, with just ten ardent Bonsai-lovers of the twin cities of Secunderabad and Hyderabad, the Capital City of the State of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Now there are 160 members on the Membership Rolls, of whom 100 are active and some of them have trained world-class Bonsai plants adoring the picture gallery of the prestigious world famous U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. FBS is affiliated to the Indo-Japanese Bonsai Association of Mumbai as Chapter Member.

FBS is a non-profit, Non-Governmental organization registered under The Andhra Pradesh Telengana Area Public Societies Registration Act bearing Registration No.9279 dt November 8, 2000.
